Walmart Luminate arrives in Mexico to boost sales with data analysis
Walmart expands its business model by launching Walmart Luminate in Mexico, an advanced data analysis tool to improve the commercial strategies of its suppliers. This initiative from Walmart Data Ventures seeks to optimize both physical stores and digital channels, offering detailed insights into product performance, supply chain and consumer behavior.
How Walmart Luminate works
Walmart Luminate allows suppliers to fine-tune pricing and product strategies. Beatriz Núñez, senior vice president of Growth for Walmart de México, highlighted that suppliers can identify popular products and develop more effective offers. The tool, which has already operated in the US since 2020, will begin working in Mexico on June 3.
Impact in the United States
In the US, companies such as Mondelēz and Georgia-Pacific have improved their strategies using Walmart Luminate. Mondelēz optimized sales of its Ritz brand through activations with Walmart Connect, while Georgia-Pacific launched new products aimed at price-sensitive consumers. Núñez projects accelerated growth in Mexico similar to that of the US.

Walmart Luminate will help determine which products should be highlighted in stores and digital platforms, improving visibility and sales performance. Plus, it connects with Walmart Connect to create advertising campaigns based on accurate data. Núñez concluded that the tool allows us to better understand customer needs, integrating physical and digital analysis to capture consumers' purchasing journey.
